Client objectives

Nine Entertainment Co. (Nine) is a leading multi-platform media network, engaging audiences across news, business and finance, lifestyle, entertainment and sport. Nine moved into their new Sydney head office at 1 Denison Street, North Sydney in late 2020. LPC was appointed to project manage the design, authority approvals and installation of an 11.5-metre high Digital Electronic News Gathering (DENG) telecommunications tower on the roof level of the building (level 38), to support Nine’s broadcast operations. TV antennas, land mobiles, GPS antennas, microwave links, receiver panels, security cameras, a lightning rod and aviation light were all installed on the tower and associated platform. The project required multiple authority approvals, including Development Approval by North Sydney Council and consent from CASA and Airservices, as the tower intruded into the Sydney Airport airspace.
