Client objectives

Territory Television, which is owned and operated by Nine Entertainment Co., is licensed to broadcast to Darwin, Palmerston and the surrounding areas. The business had been housed in owned premises on the outskirts of Darwin. Nine leased 82 Mitchell Street, in the heart of the Darwin CBD. This represented a one in 50-year opportunity for the business to reposition itself and sell the existing site. 82 Mitchell Street was developed following the devastation of Cyclone Tracy in 1974. Due to its age, significant base building refurbishment and engineering services infrastructure upgrades were required together with fitting out.

Results 

• $300K in additional landlord contributions secured following due diligence.
• Refurbishment of the building façade which included painting, paving, landscaping, lighting, car parking and security.
• Installation of sky signage.
• Upgrade of all base building engineering services.
• New base building bathroom amenities.
• Fitout including open plan workspace, studio and editing facilities.
