Client Objectives

AstraZeneca Australia is part of the global science-led biopharmaceutical company, AstraZeneca. The company are engaged in the research, development, manufacture, and supply of prescription medicines. AstraZeneca’s Australian Head Office is located at 66 Talavera Road, Macquarie Park. LPC Project Services were engaged to assist AstraZeneca Australia to manage the design and building of a new Innovation Laboratory, that would be used to facilitate creative problem-solving workshops, inspire collaboration and co-creation with patients, customers, and external partners. To delineate the Innovation Laboratory from the rest of the office, a ‘Transformation Spine’ was created which acts like a gateway to shift peoples thinking as they pass through the space.

Results

The refurbished workspace saw the creation of three adjacent rooms that form the Innovation Lab. Additional meeting rooms were also built as part of a wider Future of Work project and to encourage the return to the workplace and collaboration. Fresh air louvres were also installed to the building facade to rectify ongoing airconditioning issues.
